What are appraisals, and when do you need one?
Jewelry appraisals are professional evaluations that determine a piece's materials, craftsmanship, and current market value.
If you've bought or been gifted a piece of jewelry or a gemstone, it is generally recommended to get it appraised for your insurance policy.
Other instances can include estate or resale purposes.
At Richard Gretz, we offer professional appraisals from our GIA-certified gemologist.
Each piece is carefully evaluated in-house for materials, craftsmanship, and current market value, with detailed documentation provided for your records.

Dusty Craig
Dusty, GG AJP, is our GIA-certified appraiser.
Dusty graduated first in her class from the Gemological Institute of America in 2004. She has a keen interest in colored gemstones of all types, with special emphasis on Australian opals and rare gemstones.
She has a full gem lab on-site and up-to-date software to make your appraisals as accurate as possible.
